B.C. Canada: First ascents in the Coast Mountain Range

Topics and contents

In August 2017 Simon Richardson and Michael Rinn from Germany made the first ascent of “Game of Thrones” on Monarch Mountain in the Canadian Coast Mountains. The 1250m-long route on the previously unclimbed south-west face is similar in scale and difficulty to the Walker Spur on the Grandes Jorasses. In this lecture, Simon and Michael will describe the fortunate series of events leading to the successful ascent.

Thanks to everyone who supported our lecture “Nepal: Salpa Arun & Solu Khumbu” with a donation. The money was supposed to provide the “Shree Jana Jyoti Primary School” in Jyoti Nagar, Butwal (Nepal) with materials to increase schools standard and supports three pupils with a scholarship. Among other things, a blackboard, water filters, a country map, balls as well as tables and chairs were purchased. Every single Euro made it to the school!
