Perfect Storm: First ascents on the forgotten side of Mont Blanc
With the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the legendary Alpine Club in London launched its ClubCast series, which was probably unique in this extent. For this series we have contributed the 15th Alpine ClubCast with our online lecture “Perfect Storm” on Mont Blanc. The special challenge: Inspiring a virtual audience, awakening the spirit of adventure and passion, without any direct audience feedback or exchange on site, but therefor live and worldwide.
Content: Simon Richardson and Micha Rinn describe recent first ascents of the Diamond Ridge on the Grandes Jorasses and Perfect Storm on Mont Blanc.
The talk will start with renowned Italian climbing historian Luca Signorelli outlining significant historical events on the Italian side of the range, and finish with a Q&A.
