4. MITTELHESSISCHES DRYTOOLING WINTER OPENING

Two days of hooking and clamping – as much as your forearms and ice tools will take! At the DAV Wetzlar drytooling days at the Kletterbunker in Gießen, you can spend a whole weekend getting a taste of this fascinating sport and show what you’re made of. On both days you will have the opportunity to rent and test the latest ice tools and crampons from the innovative equipment manufacturer C.A.M.P.

At the drytooling workshop on Saturday, there will be lots of tips on movement techniques, efficient tool handling, safe placements, hooks and kicks, fall training in lead-climb and toprope-situations as well as tricks for equipment tuning.

On Sunday you can expect a drytooling climbing day in a relaxed atmosphere, come-together of the climbing scene, the Kick 'n' Pick drytooling competition with great prizes as well as food and drinks at cost price. The event is free of charge on both days, but a donation to support the event is requested.

Please bring: Climbing helmet, climbing harness, mountain boots (suitable for crampons)
Equipment rental: Ice tools and mono crampons can be hired on site
Catering: There will be food and drinks at cost price/donation on Sunday
Participants: The number of participants is limited on both days, registration is required!
